Physical Therapy

All of our patients receive a set of simple exercises they can perform, while some may require the use of specialized equipment to isolate or strengthen and enhance the stability of the spine. Usually this type of treatment allows a greater gap between treatment sessions as the healing process is expedited. Some injuries however, like car accidents, work, or sports injuries, may require a more initial intensive form of treatment.

We feel that recovery is a partnership situation. We do our part by relieving pain through chiropractic therapy and manual therapy, along with support, and the patient does their part.

We find that this partnership intensifies the recovery time and relieves the patient’s pain faster. It is a win-win treatment plan.

The combined effectiveness of chiropractic, physical therapy, and exercise rehabilitation can help improve motion, increase muscle strength, enhance coordination and balance, and prevent your original health problem from returning repeatedly. Overall, manipulation has the advantage of reducing pain, decreasing medication, rapidly advancing physical therapy and requiring fewer passive modalities.

Our doctors and therapists use a hands-on approach along within conjunction specific modalities as needed. The most commonly used therapeutic procedures/modalities are:
  • Manual Hands-on Therapy

Consists of Myofascial release techniques, stretching of restricted structures and specific strengthening of weak muscles, soft tissue and joint mobilization/manipulation, and muscle energy. They help restore your back, neck, or other painful areas to the youthful pain-free resilience.

  • Pain Management

Use of moist heat, cryotherapy, ultrasound, phonophoresis, Iontophoresis, and Massage Therapy.

  • Therapeutic Exercises

Customized for each condition and may include gentle stretch therapy, isometrics, aggressive strength training, and./or therapeutic stretching for strengthening, stabilizing, and stretching restricted structures to restore normal pain-free range of motion. These exercises will improve movement and proper muscle balance.

  • Postural Corrections

This addresses behavior modification, postural exercise, and self-awareness. We concentrate on correcting musculoskeletal derangements.

  • Home Management Program

A short and detailed home exercise program corresponding to the appropriate stage of condition, which includes the do’s and don’ts of self-management.
